Its amazing how morals are taught to kids at such a young age.
Unfortunately, no matter how much has been instilled upon us, we often forget that what learnt at home, is to be applied outside and not kept within a certain boundary.
I often look at children's book, to gather that so much has been imparted to us thru stories of Aesop Fables, Hans Christian Anderson and many more.
I chose this route to try and understand what has misconstude along the way that people are no longer as respectful as they use to be.
It's taboo now discussing - RESPECT and being able to CONFORM.
Why?
Isnt it the basis of every individuals
Well to each their own.
Respect to one is different to another
Respect for the people around you and accepting others....
I was taught
When u r in another man's land(being the generic name for any territory foreign, outside home)
U r to learn, to respect and conform / adapt
Hence this story about Stellaluna...
About a young fruit bat, who because of a certain mishap in the sky fell into a bird's nest
And how, this young bat had to learn to be like the birds, active in the day and asleep at night
Eat worms n insects instead of fruits
Sleep on its 2 feet in a nest and not hang upside down.
All, without complaining and therefore it survived.
(Survival of the Fittest - Darwin's Theory of Evolution, perhaps its true)
When it finally was found by mother bat,
it went back into its old ways.
But it kept its frienship with the other 'brothers' - the birds it grew up with
and enjoy each others company.
How can WE be so different and feel so much alike?
And how can we feel so different and BE so much alike? You see at such a young age, acceptance, adaptability and respect has been inculcated.
Why does these deliquesce as time goes by?
